CircAid® Medical’s best-selling products -- the Ready-FitTM (seven bands/minimal reduction anticipated) and Classic-FlexTM (eight bands/substantial reduction anticipated) leggings are well known for their ability to activate the muscle pump and help move fluid back into circulation.
Therapists Recommend the Ready-Fit Over Stockings
Primary Lymphedema patients and those with long standing Secondary Lymphedema often find that stockings alone are not enough to prevent reflux accumulation of fluid in the leg.
Therapists report that many patients wear the Ready-Fit or Classic-Flex over a thigh high, knee high, or panty hose compression stocking either with or without the Ankle Foot Wrap (AFW); and, therapists sometimes recommend an elastic anklet instead of an AFW to wear inside a shoe.
Foam Inserts Included in the Custom Classic-Flex
When indicated by measurements, foam inserts come already placed into the custom legging, anchored with hook and loop. When the legging is fitted to the limb, the foam inserts build the leg out to a cone shape where necessary. As tension is applied to the bands, a consistent gradient pressure is exerted on the limb (La Places Law).
There is no need to spend treatment time trimming and beveling foam. It is built-in according to the measurements provided.
Ulcer Prevention: Ready-Fit and Classic-Flex
These products can be easily applied, adjusted down during the day as the leg reduces, and can help prevent skin breakdown and ulceration by effectively maintaining fluid reduction. Patients who have successfully used the Ready-Fit include:
- Arthritic, frail elderly, or post-surgical patients who cannot don compression stockings
- Non-ambulatory, post-polio, or obese patients with limbs in a dependent position who cannot tolerate or pull on stockings
- CVI (Chronic Venous Insufficiency) patients at risk for skin breakdown and ulceration
- Primary lymphedema patients where the limb rapidly refills with fluid
